Bangalore Ultra is the cradle of Ultra runners in the country. People who have cut their ultrarunning teeth at the Bangalore Ultra have gone on to run at iconic ultramarathons worldwide.
You run in a cheerful, festival-like environment, amid new runners and circuit regulars. You meet old friends here and make new ones.
You get to go the distance—literally. You get to do more than what you have done before. You get to train for it and challenge yourself and test your mettle.
The Bangalore Ultra offers a variety of distances so that you can challenge yourself no matter how experienced a runner you are.
The underlying principle is to push yourselves, as runners, out of your comfort zones and go after the tough stuff.
Nothing tastes better than the post-run lemonade. Ask anybody at the Ultra.
Post-race refueling is managed by runner-caterers with attention paid to the science of race nutrition and post-race recovery. The Ultra nutrition crew has been lapping up accolades in the last two years.
From water all day long to salt, peanut butter jelly sandwiches, oranges, bananas … we take care of every nutrition and hydration need of the runner.
Ambulances are at hand, at specific race points. Many route marshals are trained medical first responders who are trained to look out for running-related medical situations like Hyponatremia. Mandatory hourly medical check-ups occur for the Ultra runners 12 hours onwards into the race. Our medical crew also consists of dedicated long distance runners, who not just know how to treat injuries, but also what it takes for a runner to be out there, battling it out in their head.
